What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept credit (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Union Pay, & Discover Card), Google Pay, Apple Pay, & debit only.

Do I need to be present during the BBQ cleaning service?

No! As long as our team has been compensated, & has access to a working outdoor tap, electrical outlet, & BBQ, our team will be able to complete the service smoothly.

Will my BBQ look brand new?

As always, we will do our best to make the BBQ look as good as new. However, some things cannot be remediated such as rust, carbon, damage, & other stains. MOST IMPORTANTLY, HOWEVER, IS THE BBQ WILL BE CLEAN & SANITARY FOR USE.

How often should I get my BBQ professionally cleaned?

We recommend our BBQ cleaning service 1-2x a year depending on the amount of use of the BBQ.

Is it important to clean my BBQ regularly?

Yes, doing so will help create a clean & sanitary cooking environment, prevent flare-ups, remove unwanted pests, nests, & rodent feces & lengthen the life of the BBQ.

What do I need to provide for the cleaning?

Our team will need access to the BBQ & an appropriate cleaning area. A working outdoor tap & electrical outlet are required in order for the teams to complete the job. Without this, we will be unable to complete the work.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO CLEAN A BBQ IN Toronto?

the average cost of professional bbq cleaning services in Toronto can range from $150 to $400 or more depending on the make, model, type & size. larger bbqs or those with extensive buildup may require more time & effort, thus increasing the cost. additionally, if you opt for additional services such as dry cleaning, ppf installation, or component replacements, the cost may be higher.

Do you clean your BBQ after each use?

To ensure your BBQ is performing at its best, you should always clean it after use. After cooking, clean away all excess food by scrapping off the residue on both sides of the cooking grates with a BBQ scraper.

Is vinegar good for cleaning a BBQ?

The best BBQ cleaner around! Vinegar contains 5% acetic acid which kills bacteria & viruses, in other words, it gets rid of grime in your grill. Mix two cups of vinegar with two cups of water in a spray bottle.

How often should you clean your BBQ?

We recommend cleaning the interior of your gas barbecue at least every 1-3 months or so & the exterior once a month depending on the amount of use.

Do you clean BBQs in the winter?

We do not provide BBQ services throughout the winter. Many clients have their outdoor water shut off & the weather is unfit for BBQ cleaning. We service BBQs From March 21st - to December 1st if the weather permits.

What are some tips to maintain my BBQ?

Always cover the BBQ

Oil your foods & grates

Empty & change the drip tray liners when needed

Clean grates each time before & after cooking with a wooden scraper

Avoid storing items in the bottom (it is not meant for storage)

 

Does the heat from the BBQ eliminate rodent feces & make it safe to cook with?

No, it’s a huge misconception that the feces are removed with extreme heat. Cold feces & hot feces are still feces & should not be present in or around cooking areas. Whether it’s your BBQ or kitchen, it should be cleaned & sanitized for your own health.

Should you oil a BBQ after every use?

Oil your grates right before placing food on them & after each use for best cooking results. There are several ways to oil your grates, depending on whether they're hot or cold.

Should you clean a BBQ hot or cold?

Except for flat tops, the best way to clean a grill is to start while the grilling surface is warm. Make sure to wait until the surface has cooled enough that it will not burn you.

What happens if you don't clean your BBQ?

Bacteria & mold may grow. If an outdoor grill is left for months without being cleaned, bacteria & mold can begin to form underneath the grill hood. Not only can this be visually disgusting, but it can also cause cross-contamination when cooking fresh meat. Also, rodents love to nest inside dirty BBQs making it a great place for hibernation.

How long should my BBQ last?

The average life of a good quality BBQ with the proper maintenance & care can last 20+ years. We have cleaned many BBQs over 35 years old & they work better than some new BBQs.

Does lemon clean a BBQ?

Heat the grill to a high temperature. Once the grill is heated dip the juicy end of the cut lemons in a plate of salt to add some abrasiveness & use the lemons to wipe the grill clean. It's quite amazing how well this little trick works & the natural acidity of the lemon juice helps sterilize the grill.

Is rust common?

By nature, metals will corrode & rust over time given the environment they are exposed to. With the proper care, this may be prevented & prolonged from happening, resulting in extended life of the BBQ & components.

Is it OK to grill on rusted grates?

Let me put it this way: DO NOT - REPEAT - DO NOT COOK FOOD ON RUSTY METAL. Rust is not on any list of edible food substances & it is not on any list of safe food cooking surfaces. Remove all of the rust & then properly season the metal grill, griddle, pan, pot, or whatever, before using it to cook food.

CAN BBQ CLEANING REMOVE RUST FROM MY GRILL?

bbq cleaning can help remove minor rust spots from your grill, but it may not be effective for extensive rust damage. if your grill has significant rust, it is advisable to consider replacing the affected parts to ensure safe & optimal cooking.

How do you prevent rodents from entering the BBQ?

Cleaning the BBQ

Covering the BBQ with a weighted cover

Storing the BBQ inside when it is not in use

Putting mouse traps in the bottom of the BBQ

Using moth balls to deter rodents

Can bacteria survive a BBQ?

Don't assume high heat kills off harmful bacteria. Many cooks assume the high heat of a grill's fire is all that's needed to destroy any bacteria that linger on the grates. While it is true the flames will do a decent job of blasting away those germs, they aren't 100 percent effective.

How long does a BBQ cleaning take?

BBQ cleanings on average take about 1-2 hourS. For bigger or extremely dirty units it could take a bit longer. Dry BBQ cleanings take about 2-3 hours on average.

How do I know how many burners my BBQ has?

We count only the burners located at the bottom of the box for our pricing guide. To count the burners correctly, remove the grills & flavor bars in order to count all burners inside the box correctly. Note: Side burners & rotisserie burners are not counted as extra burners.

What happens if the weather is poor during my appointment?

If it is raining, snowing or the weather is freezing, the appointment will be rescheduled to a better date.

What if I am unhappy with the cleaning results?

We strive for the best turnaround of the BBQ & customer satisfaction. With our 99% satisfaction rate, you can rest assured you will be happy with our services. If we deem your BBQ is unable to benefit from a cleaning, we will recommend a replacement BBQ which we can also assemble & set up for you.

What if I do not have an appropriate place to clean the BBQ?

We recommend booking a dry method cleaning where we clean the BBQ without the use of water. Usually, built-in BBQs or BBQs on apartment balconies require this type of cleaning. Please note that this method does not have the same results as cleaning the BBQ with water.

What if I live in an apartment?

For apartments, we recommend booking a dry method cleaning as there is usually no access to water or a good area to clean the BBQ with proper drainage. We also must have enough space for our team to work comfortably or we would be unable to service the BBQ.

My propane BBQ has a low flame or is not lighting & the tank is full, what do I do?

Try resetting the regulator. Close the propane tank & disconnect it from the BBQ. Leave all burner valves open to purge the gas lines. Wait a minute for the regulator to reset. Close all burner valves. Reconnect the tank. Slowly open the valve on the propane tank until completely open. Try lighting the BBQ again. This should solve the problem. If the problem still persists you can book an on-site diagnosis with us & we can pinpoint the problem as there may be other problems with the BBQ.

Do you sell BBQ parts?

We always recommend contacting the BBQ manufacturer as you may be able to get parts for free under the BBQ warranty. If not, we recommend you buy the parts needed directly from the manufacturer. We can sell parts upon the fact that the correct parts are made available for us to purchase.

Do you do BBQ repairs?

Yes. We offer a complimentary BBQ diagnosis with every BBQ cleaning. We also offer on-site diagnosis service. If parts are available, we can repair the BBQ if deemed possible.

How do booking times work?

We book 3-hour time slots for our teams to arrive. We have this in order to avoid travel & appointment time discrepancies & to be more flexible with clients.

Is my BBQ worth cleaning?

Yes, at least once a year it is necessary. If the value of the unit is less than $300, we recommend buying a quality BBQ replacement instead of getting a cleaning. If the BBQ is unfit for continuous use, we will recommend a replacement.

What time of year is best to clean my BBQ?

Getting the BBQ cleaned in the spring is the best time to do so. If possible, doing it again before winter is also recommended.

How do I winterize my BBQ?

When your barbecue grill is not in use for long periods, store your heat shields, flavor bars, & grates in a dry warm place. Coating clean, dry cooking grates with cooking oil (at room temperature) will create an extra layer of protection against rust. We also recommend covering & moving the BBQ for storage inside the garage if possible.

Will there be a mess left behind?

No! We always lay tarps & clean BBQs in appropriate areas SUCH AS THE GRASS OR ROAD to ensure no mess is left behind.

No! As long as the teams have access to the items, a place to work, full instructions for the service, & have been compensated you do not need to be present for the appointment.

Do I need to be present during the yard clean-up & maintenance service?

No! As long as the teams have access to the areas that need service, full instructions for the service, & have been compensated, you do not need to be present.

Do you provide yard bags?

We provide yard bags & everything else needed for the yard cleanup.

Do you remove the leaves?

We only clean them up & put them out for city pick-up.

Are you a fully mobile service?

Yes, we are fully mobile & perform all work on-site.

it is best to use cleaning products specifically designed for bbq cleaning. avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the cook box surfaces. look for eco-friendly & food-safe cleaning solutions that are effective in removing grease & grime. synsix, for example, utilizes environmentally friendly cleaning agents safe for your bbq and the environment.

CAN I CLEAN MY BBQ BY MYSELF?

yes, you can clean your bbq on your own. however, it is important to follow proper cleaning techniques & use suitable cleaning products to avoid damaging the grill's surfaces. if you are unsure or want to ensure a thorough & professional cleaning, it is recommended to hire a bbq cleaning service like synsix, which has the expertise & equipment to clean your bbq effectively.

DO YOU PERFORM BBQ INSTALLATIONS?

unfortunately, synsix does not perform bbq installations. we HIGHLY recommend having your contractor install the bbq into the outdoor kitchen they built to ensure their work has been done correctly.
